Louis (Lou) Hutchison, Jr., is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for H-D family of companies, including H-D Consulting Services. H-D Consulting Services specializes in executive business advisory consulting with a specialization in start-up or early stage companies and a focus in the technology, services and healthcare sectors. The other companies under the H-D umbrella include real estate development and management, specialized vehicle collection and management services and small company investment and corporate lending.

Prior to founding the H-D family of companies, Mr. Hutchison was CEO of Apokalyyis, Inc. (Ah-pock-ah-lie-us), a company which provided custom-tailored deep analytics solutions for customers in multiple vertical industries using proprietary relationship recognition algorithms.

Mr. Hutchison was also a founding principal of HealthTrans, LLC, a healthcare benefits management company. Before retiring from daily operations, Mr. Hutchison served as President and Chief Operating Officer. HealthTrans, founded in 2000, grew to have annual revenues in excess of $250 million and counted among its clients such companies as Kaiser Permanente and BMW Manufacturing USA. HealthTrans was acquired in 2013 by SXC and is now part of the United Healthcare group.

Prior to founding HealthTrans, Mr. Hutchison founded Systems Xcellence USA, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Systems Xcellence, Inc. a Canadian healthcare software development company and served as its President. Mr. Hutchison also served in various other executive level positions, both within the parent organization and the subsidiary in the area of sales, marketing, and corporate and business development. Mr. Hutchison has worked in both the Canadian and U.S. healthcare markets with both public and private sector customers.┬áPrior to joining Systems Xcellence, Mr. Hutchison owned and managed a successful business and technology management consulting practice. Before opening his consulting practice, Mr. Hutchison worked for Shared Financial Systems (Now S2 Corporation), an electronic funds transfer and online transaction processing software company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, specializing in OLTP applications for the financial, retail, and healthcare industries. While at Shared Financial, Mr. Hutchison worked with such customers as Citicorp, American Express, Pacific Telesis (where he installed the first on-line credit card authorization system in South Korea in time for the 1988 Olympics) and many other domestic and international clients. Prior to Shared Financial Systems, Mr. Hutchison was at First Texas Savings & Loan, where he established First Texas’ ATM and EFT network, MoneyMaker, which still exists today.

Mr. Hutchison is active in the community and sits on various corporate, political and non-profit boards. Current and past board and trustee positions include past Chairman of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry (CACI) which is the state chamber of commerce, Colorado Healthy Business Initiative (as a Founding Board Member), Common Sense Policy Roundtable (as a Founding Board Member), the Denver Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and ACE Scholarship Fund.

Originally from Atlanta, GA, Lou grew up in Dallas, TX and attended North Texas State University. Lou and his wife of over thirty-five years, Tanis, currently reside in Colorado.

Lou enjoys car collecting, driving road rallies, flying (currently still as a student pilot), playing guitar, reading and playing poker.
